The SABC this week once again dominated the local news. The latest coverage has centered on the resignations of some Board members and issues with the production industry, who recently marched to the SABC in Auckland Park, to put across their concerns, and the planned strike by the unions at the organisation.
The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration gave the unions permission to embark on a protected strike as an agreement with SABC management over the 12.2% increase wanted by the unions could not be reached. The 12.2 wanted by unions is in line with the 3 year multi-term agreement signed by both parties.
The SABC has indicated that beacuse of the financial situation it is facing it can only afford 8.5%.
The strike by unions would have an even bigger negative effect as it would not only affect the SABC, but the country as a whole.
With so many challenges facing the public broadcaster at the moment, it is about time that governement has deemed it fit to fully assist the public broadcaster, especially with its skewed funding model.

I love the way you're able to stick to your theme or topic. Your sense of humour also comes through very well. The use of pics and related links quite impressive.
